Statistics: January 2004
A log is kept of the options and results for each random search. I wrote a small
program to analyse everything based on the data from the past month.
August was the first month with a custom word option, where you can specify
a word you always want included in the search terms. I exluded these searches
from these stats, as they would greatly influence the results.

Website URL hits
The root URL was counted for each site visited. For example,
If a web site address 'www.news.com/paper/june/00232.html'
was hit, only 'www.news.com' was counted.
** Note that the site
wortschatz.uni-leipzig.de contains a 10000+ word list of the english language,
and so this page is generally found if an odd combination of rarely used words are
used in the search.
Top-level domain hits
The top-level domains (.com, .edu, .org, etc) in the web URLs were counted.
The top few never seem to change.

The filetypes that were used in the URL were counted. The order doesn't
change from month to month, however I expect to see a slight shift over a
longer time period.

Word Frequencies
Although there is an equal probability of any word being picked out of
the 7111 words in the database, some words came up more often than others.
These are the words that were most often picked.
Words used 26 times: cache
Words used 24 times: exhaust
Words used 22 times: lives, worker
Words used 21 times: stringent
Words used 20 times: advisory, altogether, edge, flew, hotels, hundred, opera, parole, reflected, rice, sectors
Words used 19 times: too many !
Only 25 words were never used.

If you want English pages, there really is no need to select English
when you are using Mangle since the majority of the pages on the internet
are in English, and you are using and English database of words.
